What do you think of buying your car across the border? With the current Canadian dollar there are ads on the radio telling people about different laws in the US and Canada that will cause you trouble when bringing your new car over the border.

Im wondering if anyone has ever bought a car from another country, and if so would you do it again? Are you tempted to take advantage of the lower prices being offered on either side of the boder?

Personally I think I would have to do a lot more research before signing any papers.

That's an interesting question.  I think thecost of registration once you got the vehicle home would b so high you wouldn't really save, but I dont know that for sure.

I dont see a savings. I have tried doing some calculations with a friend who works at a car dealer in Canada and it doesnt seem positive to buy cross border.

I have also checked a few sources and they have all told me not to buy from another country.

I have also noticed that pricing has changed with many dealers to reflect the changes in the dollar. Many companies are also now lowering monthly payments on leases as far back as 2004.

I haven't personally heard of anyone buying a car and bringing it across the border.

I have heard of very good deals from repossession auctions, though.

Ahh yes, the ever popular auctions. I know a used car sales man that gets many cars from auctions. He makes good profit too.
