A friend of mine has an old model 4Runner and loves it. He replaced the engine at 800,000 miles and has replaced almost everything else on at least once. It's fun to drive but it sure is loud

Used 4runners basically go on forever. The transmission is the one big repair you will have. Be carefull if your radiator starts leaking, the transmission fluid(pink color) is in there also. If it leaks out the transsission will burn out. I buy around 3 old 4runners every month.

Is the transmission still a problem even if the ATF doesn't leak at all? I guess I should check my transmission cooler now.
