Thinking of buying a Tacoma

I'm thinking of buying an 08 Tacoma

i live in NYC and just have a few questions about the Tacoma.
Are they a reliable trucks? ( i know most Toyota's are)
I'm thinking of buying either the double cab or the access cab, can you get the TRD off-road package in the double cab or only the access cab because from what i understood at the dealership its only available in the access cab?

Whats the differences between the TRD Sport package and the TRD off road package?
